If KGF Chapter 3 is next, what's happening to #Yash19 with Narthan, wonder fans

Kannada cinema’s Rocking Star Yash has been associated with KGF for well over 6-7 years, which is ongoing, what with the actor to return to the role of Rocky Bhai later this year for KGF: Chapter 3. Yash’s last pre-KGF film, Santhu Straight Forward came out in late 2016 and much as his fans love seeing him as Rocky Bhai, they are keen to have him explore other genres and filmmakers.

For the longest time, it had been reported that Yash was committed to a film with Mufti director Narthan, which would be his next project after KGF: Chapter 2 and had been dubbed #Yash19. This was supposed to be a film produced by KVN Productions. But there has been no update on this project and now Hombale Films has stated that KGF: Chapter 3 will go on floors as soon as director Prashant Neel is done with Salaar.

Producer Vijay Kiragandur’s latest announcement has enthused fans, but they remain hopeful that Yash will do another film in the interim. It does seem unlikely, considering that the actor is continuing to maintain his long locks and bearded Rocky Bhai look. Nevertheless, fans have been taking to social media urging the Rocking Star to step outside the KGF franchise before he returns to it.

Fans are quite confident that Yash’s recent appearance at a friend’s wedding in Mysuru, along with Narthan is proof that they will soon be working together. Also, Prashant Neel had earlier mentioned that once he is done with Prabhas’ Salaar, he will move on to director NTR Jr’s next, so it is unlikely that he can start KGF3 as early as October-November.

The other option, of course, is if Narthan takes on direction duties, under Prashant’s keen supervision. Given that Vijay said that he was looking at creating something like a Marvel Cinematic Universe, where stories are interconnected, but the directors vary. This maybe highly unlikely, as Narthan is believed to have been working on the script for #Yash19 for the past two years.
