IND vs AUS 2nd Test Live: Cheteshwar Pujara, on his 100th Test, hits the winning FOUR, India wins by 6 wickets

Cheteshwar Pujara smashed a FOUR and with that the 2nd Test comes to an end. 

India retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as well.

After hitting a SIX in the previous over, Shreyas Iyer was eager to go for the big shots. He danced down to repeat that six over deep mid-wicket but this time, Lyon pushed his ball quicker and Iyer was caught on the boundary ropes.

Kohli danced out to smother but Murphy persisted with the arm ball. It skid past the outside edge and Carey took the bails off in a flash.

Virat Kohli becomes 6th batter to reach 25000 runs in the international cricket. 

He is the 2nd Indian, and the first ever to reach there with 50+ average. 

1 run completed and a terrible misunderstanding between Rohit and Pujara saw the skipper sacrificing himself. Surely a waste of a wicket as the captain was in good form.

Rohit had nudged the ball in front of square on the on-side and took the first run. He then turned back for the second, so did Pujara and he kept running. However, Rohit for some reason stopped mid-way. In the meantime, Hanscomb lobbed the ball to Carey, who did the rest.

KL Rahul's luck is surely not on his side. KL struck the ball sweetly, straight off FSL's shins. The ball lobbed up in the air and it was a dolly for the keeper. 

He makes a slow walk back to the pavilion. Will this be the last time fans see him in the whites for a while? This will be answered during the 3rd Test.

Jadeja is all smiles as he has finished the innings with a seven-fer. Kuhnemann was his last victim as the batter tried to go for a reverse-sweep and dragged it back on off the glove. The ball kissed the glove and went on to destroy the stumps.

Jadeja has six and he will now look to end things for the Aussies. Lyon tried to go for a big drive but the thick inside-edge takes out the leg-stump.

Aussies trying the sweep shot and Jadeja getting them bowled - this has been the story on Day 3. A fifer for Jadeja as he sends back Carey for 7.

Carey had already decided he would play the reverse-sweep but misses the ball and it pitches and goes over the bat and knocks out leg-stump.

It was just drinks break and Pat Cummins just came to the crease. However, he did not even last long as he was bowled and sent back on the very first ball.

Cummins tried a slogsweep to a straight delivery but the ball keeps low, skids and crashes into the stumps.

After ending Day 2 on a high, Day 3 is not going in favour of the Aussies. Handscomb came in to bat and soon was sent back by Jadeja. Handscomb got forward to drive but the turn takes the outside-edge and Kohli takes a nice catch to slip.

Jadeja gets it quicker and Labuschagne misjudged the length. The ball skids and keeps low as it brushes the bottom-edge on the way to rattle the stumps.

The game between Smith and Ashwin continues and the Indian bolwer yet again sends back the Aussie batter. Smith had premeditated a sweep, but misses the ball and it rapped on the pads. Umpires gave OUT, but Smith went for the review.

The impact is in line and and Gough's decision proved correct. Smith puts his head back and closes his eyes in disappointment.

The dangerous Travis Head goes in the 1st over of Day 3. The opening batter had come in on Day 2 with intent and started smashing the ball. However, this time, R Ashwin made Head come forward to defend and the ball pitches short of the bat. Srikar Bharat takes hold of the ball and flips the bails.

Stumps: Day 2 saw India slipped from 46 for 0 to 66 for 4 and then from 125 for 4 to 139 for 7. Axar- Ashwin made sure to revive India with their 8th wicket partnership adding 114 runs. India's 262 was just 1 run shy of Australia's 263. 

Coming in to field, India struck early by dismissing Usman Khawaja, however, Travis Head, who was promoted to the top of the order, made a fluent unbeaten 39 having stretched their overall lead to 62 runs. 

Good start for India, as Shreyas Iyer takes a fine catch at leg gully. Khawaja, tried to hit the ball, but it came at chest high and Shreyas did well to hang on.

When the Aussie openers walked out to bat, it was Travis Head who came with Usman Khawaja. 

David Warner has been ruled out by concussion, and Renshaw is his replacement.

Australia take a 1 run lead as Shami, who went for a blind slog, missed it and the ball hit the stumps.

The highest runk scorer for India, Axar Patel departs. The batter tries to slog it across but it goes straight to Cummins at mid-on. A nice catch and Australia surely will be releaved.

The second new ball does wonders as Pat Cummins gets a wicket with the new cherry. Ashwin chips the ball towards square leg and Renshaw shuffles to his right to complete the catch.

With a SIX, Axar Patel does it again - get a 50.

This would surely be one of his best innings in his short Test career.

Five wickets for Lyon and surely this is not good for India. Bharat knows he's got glove on that and does not walk off soon, India in dire trouble at the Kotla, as the crowd is silenced.

The crowd at Kotla is stunned silence as home boy Virat Kohli walks back. This is surely a controversial moment with the ball was between the pad and bat.

The wickets were only marginally hitting as per Hawk Eye. 

Kuhnemann gets his debut wicket.

Murphy pitched the ball on off and went through with the arm while Jadeja played for the turn. The ball hits him on the pads and he goes for a review, but ball tracking confirms it was crashing onto middle.

What a catch by Handscomb at short-leg. The ball flicked from the meat of the bat and Handscomb gets lucky as it hits him on the arm and then rolls down on to his right leg. He uses his presence of mind and clutches it on to his body.

Not the game all expected from Pujara, especially after he is playing his 100th Test game. Pad-first and Pujara has been dismissed for a duck. 

Lyon is on fire as he got his third victim. Australia's review go in their favour.

Lyon gets his 2nd wickets, this time its skipper Rohit Sharma. Rohit goes on the back foot to try and nudge it, however, the ball goes past both bat and pad and disturbs the stumps.

KL Rahul was given OUT, but he reviews it. The ball is tossed up on middle and Rahul who went ahead to defend saw it get stuck a little next to the pad.

India don't lose a review though as it is umpire's call on hitting.

Rohit Sharma (13) and KL Rahul (4) end Day 1 scoring 21/0. 

The side trail by 242 runs.

Done and dusted, Australia score 263 on Day 1 of the 2nd Test. 

Mohammed Shami (4/60) along with R Ashwin (3/68) and Ravindra Jadeja (3/68) took all the needed wickets.

Shami ends the innings with four wickets to his name. The ball clips the top of leg-stump, beating the inside-edge of Kuhnemann.

Lyon gets forward to drive but the ball rushes past the batter and dismantles the off and middle stumps. Wicket No. 3 for Shami.

Jadeja breaks the partnership. Cummins came forward to defend but misses as the ball raps the pad. The Aussies go for a review just for name sake. Three red dots and India have their 7th.

On his 2nd in the same over, Jadeja bowled a similar ball and Murphy got forward to drive but left a tiny gap between bat and pad. The ball spun back in to knock him over.

After almost 5 and a half years - 13 innings - Peter Handscomb gets his well-deserved 50.

Edged and caught. The left-hander jabbed forward with pretty hard hands but the ball touches the bat and lobbed into the hands of Kohli at slip.

The one-handed stunner from KL Rahul saw Khawaja be in absolute disbelief. The batter shaped for the reverse sweep and nailed it towards point, however, he was not ready for the screamer from KL. 

KL Rahul dived across full length to his right and got the ball one-handed and held on to it even as he fell onto the ground. 

That's the 250th Test wicket for Ravindra Jadeja.

Travis Head tried to slash the ball but an edge saw it travelling and get well caught at over shoulder height by KL Rahul at second slip.

Khawaja scores a run to get his 20th Test fifty.

He has watched batters leave from the other end, yet he remained calm.

First Labuschagne and then Steve Smith, R Ashwin struck twice in the over. 

For Labuschagne, Ashwin was very convinced and nudged his captain to review. UltraEdge confirms no bat and ball-tracking shows the ball crashing into the middle-stump and umpire Nitin Menon has to change his original call once again. This gave Ashwin his 700th First Class wicket

His second was Smith, who tried to play for the turn but the ball held its angle, flicked the outside edge and Srikar Bharat completes a superb catch. Smith knew he had edged the ball and started to walk off.

Shami came from round the wicket and the angle drew Warner across. He got the edge just enough for the keeper to catch. Srikar Bharat moves across to his left to gobble up the chance.

Sunil Gavaskar presents a special cap to honour Pujara's 100th Test.

On receiving the cap, Pujara said, "It is an honour to receive this cap from you, legends like you have inspired me (On getting the cap from Sunny G). I wanted to play for India as a youngster but I never thought I'd get to 100 Test matches. Test cricket is the ultimate format for me, it challenges you just like life. To all the youngsters, I'd encourage y'all to work hard to play Test cricket for India. I'd like to thank my wife, my family, everyone in BCCI and all my teammates who've supported me throughout this journey".

Matthew Kuhnemann has been given his Baggy Green - cap number 466.
