The shoot for Kamal Haasan's long-delayed Indian 2 has begun and is going on at brisk pace. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, who was in the US for the prep work of the film, joined the set recently. The team is currently shooting a few important sequences set in the 1920s and has been sharing frequent updates from the set. They recently revealed a picture of Kamal Haasan getting ready for his makeup. In the picture, the actor is surrounded by makeup artists working on Kamal Haasan's look. The picture came as a huge relief to Kamal Haasan fans, who have been eagerly waiting for the actor to revive the film. The film is said to be a prequel to Indian as well.

Now, the reports are that Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal will be performing Varma Kalai in the film. A picture of Kamal Haasan with Prakasan Gurukkal, who is the founder of the spiritual martial art form, has surfaced on the internet. It is said that he will be training the actors in the martial art. It is to be noted that Kamal Haasan's Senathypathy character did Varma Kalai stunts way back in the 1996 film Indian as well. Varma Kalai focuses on major nerve points of the body.

The film has an ensemble star cast including Siddharth, Bobby Simhaa, Guru Somasundaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Samuthirakani, Jayaprakash, Delhi Ganesh, Vennela Kishore and among others. Anirudh Ravichander, who had recently scored music for Kamal Haasan's blockbuster Vikram will be scoring the music. Cinematography is by Ravi Varman.

Though the team had begun working on the film in 2019, a freak accident on the set which turned fatal for a few crew members, led to the shoot coming to a close. And the shoot got delayed further during the pandemic and Kamal Haasan, too, moved to Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram.
