Ini Utharam Trailer Talk: Confessions Of A Murderer

What happens when “truth is stranger than fiction?” This is the question that the Malayalam thriller Ini Utharam aims to explore. The film’s trailer kicks off with an intriguing premise —Aparna Balamurali’s Janaki walks into a police station and confesses to murder.

The film, which unfolds in a police station located amidst a huge forest in Pooppara,  follows the events that ensue Janaki’s shocking confession. Politicians and common folk soon get involved in the highly publicised case when Janaki reveals that she buried the victim post-murder.

Some brand her a liar, while some question her mental state. But is Janaki saying the truth or is she deceiving everyone with a bigger plan in mind? The film is scheduled to be released on September 16.

Helmed by Sudheesh Ramachandran, Ini Utharam co-stars Kalabhavan Shajohn, Harish Uthaman, Sidharth Menon, Chandunadh, Jaffar Idukki, and Siddique. It is penned by Ranjith Unni. The film, which is produced by Arun and Varun under A&V Entertainments, has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab. While Ravichandran has lensed the film, Jithin DK has handled the editing.
