Aha Tamil, the newly launched OTT platform exclusively for Tamil content, was launched a week ago. After releasing its first web series, Akash Vaani, the digital avenue is ready with the next one. Titled Irai, its premiere is slated for February 18. Billed as a crime drama, its teaser was unveiled by Jayam Ravi a week ago.
Now, Sivakarthikeyan has released its trailer. The young actor expressed happiness over revealing the trailer from his Twitter account and wished success to Sarath Kumar, the protagonist of the project and Radhika Sarath Kumar, who has produced it.
He tweeted, "Happy to release the trailer of #Irai. An intense thriller from @realsarathkumar sir @realradikaa mam and the entire team Best wishes for a huge success (sic).' The one-minute trailer features investigative officer Robert Vasudevan (Sarath Kumar) who is after a sensational case.
Set against the backdrop of Kodaikanal, his character is seen enquiring the details about kidnapping cases which happened in and around the hill station. He only has a few clues in his hands, including details associated with a child pornography, a few dead bodies and three people who are connected to an infamous school.
One of the notable dialogue in the trailer goes thus, "Around 90 per cent of sexually abused children know their abusers." The crux of the series is expected to revolve around this. Rajesh M Selva has directed Irai which has music by Ghibran and editing by San Lokesh.
S Yuva has handled cinematography for the project which has additional screenplay written by Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan. He has penned the dialogues, too, along with Rajesh Manjunath and Rajesh M Selva. Nizhalgal Ravi, Abishek Shankar, Sri Krishna Dayal and Gouri Nair among others play key roles in Irai.
