Ranveer Singh's much-hyped film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar ran into legal trouble because of a scene in its trailer that was released recently. A petition has also been filed in the Delhi High Court against the makers of the film for showing pre-natal sex determination in the trailer, which is illegal in India. The trailer of the social comedy shows Singh's Jayeshbhai going to the doctor for a checkup for his pregnant wife with his parents. The doctor is then seen revealing indirectly the sex of the child using ultrasound technology.

The makers have now dropped the trailer again on social media along with a disclaimer that says, 'Pre-natal sex determination test is a punishable offence'.

Check out the tweet here:

The petition was filed by advocate Pawan Prakash Pathak which stated that though the film focuses on female foeticide and promotes the cause of Save Girl Child, the trailer also shows using ultrasound technology to determine the sex of the unborn child, which is restricted under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994. It further noted that even advertising it, without censor, is a punishable offence.

The social comedy film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar stars Shalini Pandey as the female lead. Pandey, who is best known for her performance as Preeti in Vijay Deverakonda's Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, will be making her Bollywood debut with this film. Directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar, it also features Ratna Pathak Shah and Boman Irani in important roles. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and Maneesh Sharma.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar is scheduled to release in theatres on May 13.
