During the Netflix Tudum Event held in September 2021, it was announced that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler would be back as a married couple in the sequel to their 2019 mystery comedy film, Murder Mystery. The Friends star took to her Instagram page and shared a photo from the sets posing with her co-star and also a BTS video, much to the excitement of the fans.

In the photo, Aniston and Sandler are seen posing against the backdrop of a beach. While sharing the post, she captioned it on Instagram as "Back to work with my buddy. #MurderMystery2."

At the event held last year, while announcing Murder Mystery 2, the makers summed up the sequel by stating Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back for another foreign adventure packed with mystery and mayhem.

In the first instalment, Nick (Adam Sandler) and Audrey Spitz (Jennifer Aniston), stunned by their good fortune, embark on The Mediterranean Queen, the most opulent boat in its namesake sea. In the shadow of the bow's helicopter, local nobility cools off. Designer swimwear is worn by sunbathers. Guests place bets and make Bitcoin trades.

Malcolm Quince (Terence Stamp), the hotel's owner, gathered his purported heirs for a pleasant vacation. Instead, the entrepreneur submits an amended will, bequeathing his entire $70 billion wealth to his new bride while simultaneously cutting off everyone else. Tragically, he takes a dagger to the chest before putting pen to paper.

Laurent de la Croix (Dany Boon) will canvass the floating crime scene upon his arrival in Monaco. Until then, the guests on the yacht swap suspicions, knowing that an assassin is among them. Malcolm was stabbed by a disgruntled relative, a lifelong cohort, or a business friend. Perhaps one of the American strangers showed up for his farewell bash...

Murder Mystery, released in 2019, is directed by Kyle Newacheck and written by James Vanderbilt. The film also featured Luke Evans in a pivotal role.
