Mollywood star Jayasurya dons the khaki for his upcoming project, John Luther. Touted to be an investigative thriller, the film’s trailer was unveiled today, which shows Jayasurya’s police officer character on a very intriguing case.

The trailer opens with the shot of an accident, involving a car and a bike, amidst heavy rain. Jayasurya is on the case of the fatal accident, in which a man mysteriously goes missing. As he tries to uncover the mystery, the investigation gets more and more complicated as more people start to go missing. The case lands the officer into some very dangerous situations, which he has to get out of using his wits, and his weapons.

Debutant Abhijith Joseph has written and directed John Luther. He also posted a still from the film, where Jayasurya is seen brandishing a gun. Sharing the trailer on his official social media, the filmmaker had called the film “a gripping tale of investigation, survival and relationships.”

The filmmaker had previously worked on Unni Mukundan and Sanusha starrer Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya (2016) as a spot editor. The 2016 Sajan K Mathew directorial is available to stream on ZEE5.

In addition to Jayasurya, the upcoming film also stars Siddique, Tanvi Ram, Aditi Ravi, Deepak Parambol and Indrans in pivotal roles. Shaan Rahman has composed the music for the film, which was edited by Praveen Prabhakar. The film was produced by Thomas P Mathew and co-produced by Christeena Thomas. Roby Varghese Raj is the director of photography of the film, which has cinematography by Roby Varghese Raj.

Meanwhile, Jayasurya was last seen in Sunny. The film, which had a direct to OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, was directed by Ranjith Sankar and marked the actor’s 100th film.
