Mahesh Babu recently made news after the actor replied in an interview that he will not step into the Hindi film industry as Bollywood cannot afford him. His remarks created quite a stir. Now, Kangana Ranaut has reacted to his comments, saying that what the Telugu actor said is true.
Kangana, who is known to have said some controversial things in the past, was asked during the trailer release of Dhaakad what she made of Mahesh Babu’s statement. According to Indian Express, the actor replied that she thinks he is absolutely right. She said, “I know for a fact that he gets a lot of offers from various filmmakers. His generation of actors has made the Telugu film industry the number one film industry in India. So, Bollywood definitely cannot afford him.”
She added that Mahesh Babu has shown respect towards his industry and that nobody can say that the Telugu film industry got everything served on a platter. She further added that in the last 10-15 years, the Telugu industry has left the Tamil industry behind and Bollywood can learn from them.
Mahesh Babu had later clarified that his statement was a reflection of his love for his industry and that he does not understand why he should leave one industry behind for another.
Kangana is currently busy promoting her upcoming spy action thriller, Dhaakad. The makers earlier today released the movie’s second trailer. Also starring Arjun Rampal, Saswata Chatterjee and Divya Dutta in important roles, the movie will hit theatres on May 20.
Mahesh Babu, on the other hand, had his action thriller Sarkaaru Vaari Paata hit theatres today. Also starring Keerthy Suresh in the lead, the movie has received mixed reactions.
