On Friday, Karan Johar encouraged everyone to stop categorising Indian cinema and start considering it as a single industry.

During a Brahmastra press conference in Hyderabad, Karan gave a crucial message to everyone. He asserted that Bollywood or Tollywood should not be used to refer to Indian cinema, only the Indian film industry.

The filmmaker was emphatic that they are working to spread their movie across the entire nation in their own little way. This is Indian cinema, as SS Rajamouli stated, so let's not use any other names for it. They keep giving it a Hollywood or Tollywood veneer. They have left the woods and are no longer in them. They gladly contributed to Indian cinema, and now every single film will be from India.

Earlier, in April 2022, KGF star Yash pleaded with people to refrain from subdividing Indian cinema. The actor believes that things have changed. It's past time for them to stop categorising it and start seeing it as one industry. Following that, a lot has changed. People would not have accepted pan-Indian films with a large star cast from other film industries if they had not been altered. Yash had mentioned this about the debut of both his movie KGF 2 and Rajamouli's masterpiece RRR.

Along with Yash, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon starred in KGF 2, while Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn were in RRR.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra is directed by Ayan Mukerji and features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia in the lead roles. The fantasy drama also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy, and others in pivotal roles. Brahmastra is hitting the big screens on September 9, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages.

The film marks the first outing of RK and Alia on the big screen, while Ayan has directed Kapoor in Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
