Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan reunite after working together on the critically acclaimed films 3 Idiots in 2009 and Talaash in 2012. In the upcoming drama Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official version of the 1994 film Forrest Gump, an actor reprises a character that was originally played by Robin Wright.

When one inquires about whether Wright's performance as Jenny in the original served as a model for her own, Kareena tells Mid Day that they have altered it to imitate her character, which was deep and layered. They also included something in this movie as she continues to pop back into the protagonist's life at various points. Kareena said that one will be rooting for Laal and Rupa, the lovers, to find love in the end because it is such an emotional journey. That was the unique quality of the original, and they kept it.

Laal and Rupa's characters will interact throughout the film's various phases, from their youth to far into their 50s, and are based on the life of a slow-witted guy who goes on to accomplish remarkable feats with childish optimism. Even though Aamir has consistently emphasised Kareena's special place in his films, she says she is looking forward to working with an actor who possesses the same gumption, fearlessness, and power as him.

Kareena said that Aamir won't ever appear as himself in a movie, and one would not expect anything less from him given the nature of the movie.
