Karthick Naren gives a glimpse of D43; film’s first look to release on Dhanush’s birthday

Dhanush fans have been eagerly awaiting an update from Karthick Naren’s film, which is tentatively titled #D43, from a long time. On Tuesday, the director took to social media to post a 34-second video, announcing that the first look of the yet-to-be-titled project will be out on Wednesday. The blurred video, which has pulsating background score by GV Prakash, features Dhanush lying on a bike. Karthick posted, “To all the @dhanushkraja sir’s fans out there. #D43 #D43FirstLookTomorrow @gvprakash @SathyaJyothi_.”

Billed as an investigative thriller, the film’s shooting is currently going on in Hyderabad. Malavika Mohanan, who plays the female lead in the movie, is also in the city to shoot for a few crucial portions. Mahendran, who is said to be playing a character with negative shade, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat and Krishnakumar are others who essay pivotal roles in the film. #D43 marks the reunion of Dhanush and GV Prakash after Vetri Maaran’s Asuran.

Meanwhile, Karthick’s Naragasooran, which has been lying in the cans for a long time, is expected to release on an OTT platform in August. It was his second film after his debut directorial Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru went on to become a sleeper hit. Earlier, there was speculation doing the rounds that the director is no more a part of #D43, but the team denied it as a baseless rumour.

Dhanush, who was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s Jagame Thandhiram, which was released on Netflix last month, has a slew of projects in his kitty, including Hollywood movie The Gray Man, Hindi flick Atrangi Re, Tollywood movie with Sekhar Kammula and two films with Selvaraghavan.
