The actress’ second Telugu OTT release of the year, titled Good Luck Sakhi, is rumoured to be in talks with ZEE5
Keerthy Suresh has garnered praise ever since she began her journey into the world of acting, with Mahanati earning her a National Film Award for Best Actress. The actress’ latest release, Good Luck Sakhi, is rumoured to be in talks with ZEE5 for a digital release. Directed by Nagesh Kukkunoor, this Telugu sports drama film with romance stirred into the plot for good measure will also star Aadhi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu.
Keerthy’s return to the OTT world is coming with many apprehensions since the actress’ last two OTT releases, Penguin and Miss India, both received negative reviews. She then chose to stick to commercial cinema by signing Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Pata. However, Good Luck Sakhi is still pending for a digital release and maybe as the title suggests, the film will bring Keerthy luck on OTT platforms again.
Good Luck Sakhi was intended to be a grand theatre release and the actress took to twitter to share the poster earlier this year with the release date. “Here’s the announcement you’ve been waiting for! #GoodLuckSakhi is coming to theatres on 3rd June! Save the date! (sic)” she captioned the poster. The film was prepared to release in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Now that an OTT release is being eyed by the filmmakers, it is possible that the three languages will be offered on ZEE5 as well.
The plot of Good Luck Sakhi follows the titular character, played by Keerthy, who is identified as the harbinger of bad luck in her village. However, she overcomes the barriers this places on her and reaches new heights in her preferred sport of rifle shooting with her coach.
Produced by Sudheer Chandra Padiri and Shravya Varma for Worth A Shot Motion Arts banner, Good Luck Sakhi will also feature Devi Sri Prasad’s music. The film will mark Keerthy’s second Telugu film release in 2021, following Rang De with Nithiin. ZEE5 is yet to confirm an official release for Good Luck Sakhi on the streaming platform.
