Kerosene, a crime thriller, headlined and directed by newcomer Dhruva is all set to give company to Virata Parvam for its theatrical release on June 17. Captioned 'A Burnt Truth', the film also stars Brahmaji, Preethi Singh, Bhavana Manikandan, Brahmaji, Madhusudan Rao and Kancherapalem Raju in important roles. Dhruva, the lead actor and director, has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues. The film's trailer was launched in the presence of Telangana's Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav yesterday.

The story of the film revolves around a no-nonsense cop Vaibhav in a small town trying to crack a high-profile case where culprits have a unique, mysterious modus operandi beneath their crimes - they burn victims with kerosene and leave no possible audience. How will he outsmart the mastermind(s)? Watch Kerosene to know more. Deepthi Kondaveeti and Pruthivi Yadav are bankrolling the film under Big Hit Productions. Sammeta Gandhi, Jeevan Kumar, Rama Rao Jadhav, Laxman Meesala, Laxmi Kanth Dev and Lavanya too play important roles.

The well-cut, two-minute long trailer is slick, intriguing and leaves us curious to know more. Anantha Narayanan AG and Teja Kunuru compose the music score. Tejashwini Pasupuleti has come up with the lyrics while B H P Audio has bagged the music rights. Vijay Bhaskar Saddala, Aayan Mouli and Ashok Dabbeeru have cranked the camera with Gajjala Rakshith Kumar taking care of the edits. Naveen Daniel Noah is the art director.

It's interesting that Kerosene has chosen to clash with a biggie like Virata Parvam next weekend, rather than opting for June 24 - a convenient choice for small-budgeted film. While it'll be a challenge to draw eyeballs competing with a Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi starrer, one must appreciate the courage of the producers.
