Upcoming Netflix film Khufiya directed by Vishal Bharadwaj

The shoot for the upcoming film Khufiya begins. Actor Wamiqa Gabbi interestingly announced on her Instagram handle. Holding the script, she shushed and said she has some 'khufiya' (secret) information and runs out of frame. The video has only added to the intrigue and curiosity of filmgoers ever since the project was announced.
The Vishal Bharadwaj directorial thriller for the streaming giant Netflix has begun its shoot in the national capital Delhi. Wamiqa is being accompanied by her co-star Ali Fazal at the location. Both will be seen in prominent roles alongside Tabu and Ashish Vidyarthi.
The film is said to be inspired by true events and based on the novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan. The plot revolves around Krishna, an R&AW operative who is tasked with tracking down the mole who is feeding defence secrets to other countries. The director had earlier issued a statement saying that he would be attempting at an edgy espionage film. "With Khufiya, my attempt is to create an edgy espionage film that contrasts the slow burn of intelligence and surveillance work with one’s deep-rooted emotional conflicts,” he said.
The film is being produced by Bharadwaj in collaboration with Netflix. This film marks their first project together. It is also written by him and Rohan Narula. The streaming giant has earlier released a teaser for the film captioning it as 'highly confidential information ahead' and how the cast and crew are all set to 'bring us some serious thrills in Khufiya'.
