Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali are all set to team up for the fourth time in Kakshi Amminipilla director Dinjith Ayyathan’s upcoming movie titled Kishkinta Kaandam. The team had released the poster of the movie featuring a monkey with a radio and the caption ‘a tale of three wise monkeys’.
The film marks Dinjith’s second directorial, after working with Asif in his debut venture. The upcoming movie also has Vijayaraghavan in a pivotal role and is touted to be a family drama. Cinematographer Bahul Ramesh, who had cranked the camera for Kakshi Amminipilla, has written the screenplay and dialogues of the film, which is set to go on floors soon.
Kishkinta Kaandam will mark the fifth collaboration between Asif and Aparna, who had earlier worked in films such as Sunday Holiday, B.Tech and Thrissivaperoor Kliptham. The duo most recently shoot together in Shaji Kailas’ Kaapa, which also has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Anna Ben. Aparna plays Prithviraj’s pair in the movie, which had wrapped up its Thiruvananthapuram schedule on Friday.
Asif, meanwhile, was part of Sibi Malayil’s Kotthu that released on Friday. The political drama-thriller, which also has Roshan Mathew, Nikhila Vimal and Ranjith, had the actor playing a communist party worker who gets in trouble after killing a member from the opposing party.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, Asif said that the film reflects the emotional ramifications of the political murders that happen in Kerala that not many pay much heed to. The film also had him working with veteran filmmaker Sibi Malayil after a gap of a decade. The duo had previously worked together in movies such as Violin, Apoorvaragam and Unnam.
Aparna, whose previous film Sundari Gardens dropped on Sony LIV a few weeks ago, is also gearing up for the release of her movie Ini Utharam. The film is set to hit theatres on October 5.
