Koffee With Karan 7: Did Karan Johar really favour Janhvi Kapoor over Sara Ali Khan? Host-filmmaker breaks silence

The second episode of Koffee With Karan 7 saw Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor grace the couch and swap some fun stories with each other. But a lot of viewers were displeased with host Karan Johar after the episode aired. Many felt that the host had favoured Janhvi over Sara, and some even called Karan ‘biased’. Karan recently addressed the issue and set the record straight with his side of the story.

During the trailer launch event of Liger, held Thursday in Hyderabad, Hindustan Times quoted Karan calling the allegations ‘completely untrue’. Defending what he did, Karan said that he felt bad for Janhvi, who had lost both the rapid fire and the game rounds when she came on the show. The host said that he was just trying to be nice to the actress due to her losses, which fans seemed to have read in the wrong way.

The host went on to call Sara and Janhvi wonderful artists and girls, saying that he loved them both dearly. “They are kids I have known like ever since they were possibly three year old so there is not a question of a bias, not with them, not ever”, said Karan.

During the second episode of the chat show, Karan had called Sara ‘cheap’ and had even suggested that the actress had ‘daddy issues’. Many fans were displeased with the host’s comments, making their annoyance known on social media. Viewers had also come out in support of Sara, praising her for her grace on the show.

New episodes of Koffee With Karan 7 air every Thursday. The latest episode of the show featured Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Akshay Kumar. Other guests who will grace the couch this season include Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan.
