The latest episode of Koffee With Karan 7 saw Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra spill the beans on Karan Johar’s couch, with a little encouragement from the host of course. Malhotra is currently keeping busy filming for his upcoming web series with Rohit Shetty, Indian Police Force. During his Koffee With Karan 7 appearance, the actor seemed to have revealed just how he came to be a part of Shetty’s famed Cop Universe.

During the show’s popular rapid fire round, Johar asked Malhotra the name of a director the actor would not mind calling up and asking for a role from. To this Malhotra responded “Well, I did call up Rohit Shetty and today we’re working together”.

Malhotra also revealed his fondness for doing romantic films as well during the round of questioning. When Johar asked whether or not Malhotra enjoyed doing romantic films, the actor responded by saying that the reason he joined the industry was because he wanted to do ‘romantic Karan Johar films’. He also added that his love for romance films was also inspired by Shah Rukh Khan.

Indian Police Force, which forms a part of Shetty’s Cop Universe, marks the actor’s debut web series. Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi also play pivotal roles in the show, which is also Shetty’s digital debut. Indian Police Force is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. A release date for the same is yet to be announced by the makers.

Malhotra was last seen in the biographical war drama Shershaah, which also had a digital release on Amazon Prime Video. The actor had a host of films in his kitty at the moment, including Shantanu Bagchi’s Mission Majnu, Indra Kumar’s Thank God, as well as Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha’s Yodha. The latter is produced by Karan Johar.
