The actors explained their experiences while shooting for the web series
Karan Johar is back with another lively episode of Koffee with Karan, and this time, it is with the stellar cast of the web series The Empire, Kunal Kapoor, Dino Moreo and Drashti Dhami. The promo of which was shared by Disney+Hotstar earlier.
Karan kickstarted the show calling the cast to the 'darbar', and what it feels like to create 'history', pun intended. Kunal replied that it feels simply amazing, and the response has been overwhelming. What he likes the most about it is the ambition of the project. “Whether it’s the entrance or the costumes or the action or the set, I don’t think there has been a show ever with this kind of magnitude in this country,” he said.
On the other hand, Dino said that there is a lot of energy and excitement in the room and that there were no constraints in spending whatsoever. They had everything they wanted for the series, and the attention to detail is magnificent. They both agreed on how the looks of their characters became a game-changer, and how it brought out the essence of their characters from the Mughal era. They also stressed on their attention to the body language and other nuances of their personalities.
Drashti said that the whole experience was different and new, and it was something that she has never experienced before. She explained her struggle with remembering the scripts, but the other two seem to have found that very easy. The whole conversation ended in a good laugh.
They also explained how difficult it was during the pandemic to shoot for the series as it made everyone’s life very challenging. The show of course is incomplete without Karan's rapid-fire round. The cast and the host had a burst of laughter and gained perspective into each other's works and lives in the round. Watch the full episode on YouTube to find who bags the hamper.
