The project Koogle Kuttapa has evoked curiousity among movie buffs ever since it was announced. Actor-filmmaker KS Ravikumar plays the lead in the film which is the remake of Malayalam movie Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). Debutant filmmaker duo Sabari and Saravanan, who worked with Ravikumar earlier, have directed the film.

The makers had roped in notable celebrities to unveil songs and videos from the movie. Suriya had launched its first look while Sivakarthikeyan released its teaser. Silambarasan unveiled the project's trailer and Rajamouli released its third single recently.

The team has now announced its theatrical release; Koogle Kuttapa will hit the screens on May 6. Post its release in movie halls, the film will have its OTT premiere on aha Tamil. An announcement on the date on which its digital streaming will begin is expected to be made soon.

Bigg Boss Tamil fame Tharshan and Losliya Mariyanesan will be seen playing important roles in the movie. Yogi Babu essays another crucial character in the project. The makers have tweaked the screenplay of the Kollywood version to suit the nativity of Tamil audience.

Ghibran has composed music for the film which has cinematography by Arvi. Praveen Antony has handled editing for the movie which has lyrics by Madhan Karky, Viveka and Arivu. Sivakrishna and Krishnan Subramaniam are in charge of art direction and sound designing respectively. Sandy and Viji Sathish have jointly choreographed dance sequences for the project.

Ravikumar himself has produced Koogle Kuttapa under his banner RK Celluloids. This is the veteran filmmaker's second production venture after Kamal Haasan-starrer Thenali (streaming on YouTube) which he directed more than two decades ago.
