Latest Kannada OTT releases (December 9 - December 16) - Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.

The box office in Karnataka is still very firmly under the hold of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 The Rule, which hit theatres on December 5 and with the two Kannada biggies, UI and Max, only 10-15 days away, there is no other film from the industry vying for screens this week. Even as far as OTT releases go, as of now, the options are limited to dubbed content from other industries.
Here’s a look at the Kannada films and series releasing between December 9 and December 16 on OTT or in theatres.
Thangalaan
Director PA Ranjith’s period action drama starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead had the actor as a tribal leader and his quest to find gold that will alleviate the suffering of his people. Vikram was seen in 5 roles in the film, which also starred Parvathy Thiruvoth, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, among others. The Tamil original film had opened to mixed reviews, although the lead cast was praised immensely. The film, reportedly, failed to recover its budget from its theatrical run. It is now available to stream on OTT, with audio in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam as well.

Singham Again
Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer action film is the fifth instalment in the filmmaker’s cop universe and is, reportedly, the third highest grossing Hindi film of the year. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, among others, are a part of this star-studded, which released in theatres for Deepavali. The official OTT release has not been announced, but there’s speculation that it will drop in time for the festive season, with audio options in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam as well.

Bougainvillea
Jyothirmayi’s return to the big screen was with this thriller directed by her husband, Amal Neerad. She was paired with Kunchacko Boban, while Fahadh Faasil filled in as a cop investigating the disappearance of tourists. The Malayalam original film is inspired by the 2019 novel Ruthinte Lokam and will stream with Kannada audio as well.

Harikatha
A Telugu-original crime series, Harikatha revolves around a series of murders in a village and the possibility that it maybe God’s handiwork. But is it really? Directed by Maggi, the 7-episode series stars Rajendra Prasad, Divi Vadhata, Sriram, Pooja Ponnada, and Arjun Ambati in key roles.
