Kalyani Priyadarshan will kick off the new year with two big releases in Malayalam – Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Hridayam and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy. The makers of the latter today revealed a poster of her character Anna from the movie, which has Mohanlal and Prithviraj in the lead.
The movie, which marks Prithviraj’s second directorial after Lucifer, is a feel-good family entertainer and marks the first time the actress will be sharing screen space with Mohanlal and Prithviraj. Kalyani had last year featured in Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, in which she played the wife of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the younger version of whom was played by Pranav Mohanlal.
In Bro Daddy, Kalyani’s character is the daughter of Kurian played by Lalu Alex and the romantic pair of Eesho, essayed by Prithviraj. The teaser of the film that was released on December 31, hinted that Prithviraj’s character had a tough road ahead for him as Kurian in his younger days had proposed to the former’s mother, only to be chased away by her dad. Mohanlal plays Eesho’s father John Kattadi in the upcoming movie, which will be released directly on Disney+ Hotstar later this month.
Bro Daddy, which is scripted by Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal, also has Meena, Soubin Shahir, Mallika Sukumaran, Unni Mukundan, Jagadish, Kavya Shetty and Kaniha, who plays the mother of Kalyani’s character.
Meanwhile, Kalyani will also be seen in Vineeth’s directorial Hridayam, which will release in theatres across the world on January 21. She plays one of the three leads in the coming-of-age tale that also has Pranav Mohanlal and Darshana Rajendran.
Kalyani, meanwhile, is also part of Tovino Thomas’ Thallumala, which will be an Eid release. The film is directed by Khalid Rahman and is touted to be a festive entertainer.
