The long-delayed trailer from Vishal's Laththi is finally out. The trailer gives a glimpse of Vishal's character from the film, which is that of a Grade I police constable called Muruganantham. The video, which is almost 3 minutes long, opens with what seems like a gruesome incident that happened in the city and it looks like Vishal's character takes on the powerful man behind it and gets suspended. When he does don the khaki again, he faces a life-threatening situation, where he gets stuck in a building with his son.

Sharing the trailer on his social media handle, Vishal wrote, "Here we go, proudly presenting #LaththiTrailer https://youtu.be/jc1syANigiQ #Laththi #LaththiFrom22ndDec (sic)."

Laththi is helmed by debutant director Vinoth Kumar. Sunaina plays the leading lady in the film and the project marks her second collaboration with Vishal after their 2013 film Samar. The shooting has been wrapped up and the film's post production is in full swing. The work on the film had got inordinately delayed after Vishal got injured on the set multiple times.

Laththi is said to be a tribute to the constables in the Police force and the film will have some heavy-duty action sequences performed by Vishal. The action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein are considered to be one of the highlights in the film. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While Balasubramaniem has cranked the camera, editing is by NB Srikanth.

Laththi will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. We hear that Vishal has dubbed his portions in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Rana Productions (a collaboration of actors Nandhaa and Ramana) has bankrolled the movie. This will be Vishal's second release of 2022 after his previous outing Veeramae Vaagai Soodum (streaming on Zee5). The film is slated to release on December 22.
