Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film Leo has found itself in controversy with the release of its first single, Naa Ready. A police complaint has been filed against the film and Vijay for allegedly promoting the usage of narcotic drugs through the song. A Chennai-based complainant, who is said to be a social activist, has initiated a police case against the film.

The complainant has been identified as RTI Selvam and he has approached the Chennai Police Commissioner with an online complaint to take action against Vijay under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Naa Ready was released on June 22 conincidng with Vijay's 49th birthday. Besides performing in the dace number, Vijay has also sung the song in Anirudh Ravichander's musical. The song was an instant hit with many embracing the party anthem in folk beats.

However, some condemed the visuals in the lyrical video that showed Vijay dancing to the song with a cigarette in his mouth. The first to slam the movie was Pattali Makkal Katchi and a Member of Parliament. Ramadoss.

"Actor Vijay should avoid smoking in films! It is sad that the poster of Leo movie features actor Vijay smoking. Children and students watch his movies. They should not be addicted to smoking seeing him. He also has a social responsibility to protect the public from smoking. The law also says the same. Vijay should refrain from smoking scenes in movies as he promised in 2007 and 2012," Ramadoss had tweeted earlier.

Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie is due in cinemas this October.
