Romance has captured millions of hearts generations after generations. From the silver screen epics of Hollywood to the vibrant productions of Bollywood and Tollywood, love stories have consistently resonated with audiences. And when you blend laughter with love, it becomes more crave worthy. This 21st century focuses more on this rom-com genre, rather than only typical romance, as it attracts a wide range of audiences and also earns hefty amounts at the box office.

Hence, if you are feeling bored with typical Hollywood rom-coms, we have some underrated and eccentric stories from Bollywood to watch on ZEE5:

Tamasha

It's been 9 years since the film was released, and is still one of the most loved underrated films in Bollywood. Despite several controversies and tremendous backlashes, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s chemistry is cherished by all. Tamasha not only has the essence of rom-com, but it also gives a unique life lesson. It tells a story about Ved and Tara, who fall in love while on a holiday in Corsica and decide to keep their real identities undisclosed. Tara returns to Delhi and meets a new Ved, who is trying to discover his true self.

Bareilly Ki Barfi

This unusual rom-com captures the spirit of a love triangle. When 3 mind-blowing versatile actors like Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon collaborate in one film, it's definitely going to be one of a kind. After reading a book that changes her life, Bitti is intent on meeting the author. Her quest takes her to a publisher, Chirag, who leads her to believe that the writer is Pritam Vidrohi.

Subh Mangal Savdhaan

This is one of the classic films of Ayushmann Khurrana. The 39-year-old actor, who is mostly famous for doing odd and divergent characters, has literally slayed a character with erectile dysfunction. Subh Mangal Savdhaan tells a story about a shy boy, Mudit, manages to woo Sugandha and the two decide to get married. However, before the wedding, their relationship undergoes a setback as they discover his erectile dysfunction.

Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana

Another mind-blowing character played by Rajkummar Rao as Satyendra. The unique story of this film highlights the consequences of arranged marriages in India, and how marriage is still considered the most valuable part of a woman’s life, other than studies, working, or establishing her career and dreams. Although Rao and Kriti Kharbanda’s chemistry garnered immense wows, the storyline is the main part that struck the audiences’ minds. Satyendra and Aarti meet for an arranged marriage and end up falling in love with each other. Their lives, however, change completely when she runs away on their wedding day.
