Anupam Mittal takes the crown of the shark who appeared in the most Shark Tank India episodes, appearing in all 35 episodes of the show’s first season. The businessman, the Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, invested a whopping sum of Rs 5.4 crores in 24 companies during his stint on the show. As transparent as ever, the shark had released a detailed rundown revealing the statistics of his investments, most of which featured young entrepreneurs and half of which had women founders.
Here is a list of all the companies that appeared on Shark Tank India, which were lucky enough to strike a deal with Mittal:
Skippi Pop
Founded by Ravi Kabra and Anuja Kabra, Skippi Pop is a brand that sells popsicles in six different flavours. Touted to be a healthier version than average popsicles, the brand’s products do not contain any artificial sweeteners, colours and preservatives. The company got a rare five shark deal with Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Ashneer Grover and Aman Gupta. The sharks invested Rs 1 crore for an equity stake of 15% .
Thinker bell labs
This company aims at increasing accessibility and inclusivity in education and produced the groundbreaking device, Annie. The tool aids visually impaired people to learn how to read,write and type braille on their own. Through a companion app, teachers can also check on students’ progress and give guidance. The company received Rs 1.05 crores in funding for a stake of 3%, from Bansal,Mittal and Thapar.
Heart Up My Sleeves
Heart Up My Sleeves is a clothing brand founded by Riya Khattar. It produces statement sleeves which are detachable, sustainable and reusable. The company got a deal from Mittal and Singh, who invested Rs 25 lakhs for 30% equity.
Find Your Kicks
Founded by Danish Chawla and Simardeep Singh in 2020, Find Your Kicks is a brand where customers can buy and sell premium sneakers and apparel. The company’s platform seeks to connect sellers and buyers, acting as the middleman. It received an investment of Rs 50 lakhs for 25% equity from Grover, Mittal,Bansal, Thapar and Aman Gupta.
Hair Originals
Founded by Ashish Tiwari, Jitendra Sharma, Piyush Wadhwani in 2018, this company offers good quality hair extensions. Their products are made from 100% Indian remy hair and are not treated with chemicals in any way. The company received Rs 60 lakhs in investments from Grover, Mittal and Bansal.
The Sass Bar
The Sass Bar is a brand that offers a range of artisanal, vegan soaps for gifting. Founded by Rishika Nayak, the brand’s products take the form of colourful desserts and confectionery. Mittal and Alagh invested Rs 40 lakhs in exchange for a stake of 35%.
Watt Technovations
Founded by Nihaal Singh Aadarsh in 2020, Watt Technovations specialises in making ventilation equipment for PPE kits. It received funding worth Rs 101 from Mittal, Alagh, Bansal and Thapar for a stake of 4%.
PawsIndia
PawsIndia was founded by Priyam Singh. The company is a pet brand that offers a range of products for animal companions, mostly cats and dogs. The company manufactures toys and pet food as well. Oit received Rs 50 lakhs in funding from Mittal for an equity stake of 15%.
InACan
InACan is touted to be the first brand in the country that offers a range of ready to serve cocktails in cans. The low calorie cocktails are canned in the company’s own distillery. It was founded by Viraj Sawant and Sameer Mirajkar in the year 2020. Mittal, Bansal, Thapar,Grover and Gupta invested Rs 1 crore for an equity of 10%.
Sunfox Technologies
Founded by Rajat Jain, Nitin Chandola, Sabit Rawat and Saurabh Badola in 2016, this company produces ECG devices. Their ECG device is named Spandan and manufactured using Artificial Intelligence and innovative engineering technology. The company received Rs 1 crore in funding for a stake of 6%, from Alagh, Bansal, Mittal, Thapar and Singh.
In addition to the ones mentioned above, Mittal has also invested in CosIQ, Revamp Moto, Vivalyf Innovations, Meatyour, ARRCOAT Surface Textures, LOKA, Caragreen, The Yarn Bazaar, Cocofit, Bamboo India Tweek Labs, Jain Shikanji, The Quirky Nari and Let’s Try.
