Lock Upp: Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor head to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib; trailer to launch today

Fans are anxiously waiting for Kangana Ranaut’s fiercest avatar yet, as she channels all of her fury as host of the upcoming reality show Lock Upp. Touted to be one of the most controversial and entertaining reality shows Indian television has witnessed in recent times, the buzz around the show is soaring as the makers have promised the release of its highly anticipated trailer today.

Ahead of the trailer launch today, Ranaut and the show’s producer Ekta Kapoor made their way to the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi along with the series’ crew to begin their fascinating venture on an auspicious note. After offering their prayers, they are expected to head to the trailer launch event.

The makers had teased the show with a few intriguing promos recently. One of them saw police ‘arresting’ a woman for putting forth fake allegations for publicity. The promos also give glimpses of Ranaut as a glamorous ‘jailer’ wielding a baton.

The upcoming reality show’s premise revolves around 16 ‘controversial’ celebrities being locked up in jail cells after being stripped of their amenities. In order to win, they must appease the host (Ranaut) and also perform a series of tasks. Audiences are also given a chance to decide the fate of contestants as well, as they can vote to keep or eliminate the contestants. Although a list of contestants is yet to be officially announced, Shehnaaz Gill and Poonam Pandey are rumoured to be a part of the show.

Lock Upp will be available to stream from February 27, 2022, on Alt Balaji and MX Player. The show will be live-streamed on the two platforms 24/7.
