Lock Upp: Munawar Faruqui reacts strongly to being compared to a 'terrorist' by Sunil Pal

Things got quite heated up on the show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut. On Ekta Kapoor's show, comedians Munawar Faruqui and Sunil Pal were at each other's throats during the introduction. 

A fan had shared a video on social media of the two having an argument and Sunil indirectly calling Munawar, a 'terrorist'. The video from the show's premiere has gone viral. The fan had posted the video, writing in Hindi that Kangana has given it back to Munawar, who 'makes fun of Hindu religion'. 

The video shows the hostess telling Munawar Faruqui that she would like to invite another comedian who is his 'big fan'. She then calls the comedian Sunil Pal to the stage. Kangana talks about how strikingly different they are and she asks Munawar if she can call him an 'adult' comedian and he nods. But Sunil quickly interrupts and says he should not be called an 'adult comedian' but a 'vulgar comedian' because he makes 'vulgar jokes' and 'insults the audience'.

Munawar responds to his comments saying that his comedy is for 18+ and all legalities are maintained while selling the tickets for the show. He further said that many sit in the front row because they would like the comedian to interact with them and roast them. "Yeh hai format, Improv and crowd work comedy ki. Aur mere crowdwork pe 10 million views hai."

Pal then refers him indirectly to a 'terrorist' saying, "Ab aantankvadi ko bhi nahi lagta ke main galat kar raha hu. Uske bhi apne group aur followers hote hai." Munawar then asks immediately why is the topic of terrorism brought in like 'every time'. "Aap aantankvaadi ki baat kyun kar rahe ho jab hum comedy ki baat kar rahe hai?," he asks. Kangana manages to intervene and save the show from getting ugly.

Many fans of Munawar have come in support of him. They have commented on the post saying they respect him for not losing his 'cool'. One of them wrote, Respect to Munawar Faruqui as he kept his cool against these people who even been so damn racist and indirectly even referred him as ATANKVADI!!! Hats off dude!"
