Lock Upp: Sara Khan's ex-husband Ali Merchant to enter Kangana Ranaut's show on 'publicity seeker' charges

One of the latest contestants to enter the reality show, Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut is Ali Merchant. The actor has been 'arrested' on the charges of being a 'publicity seeker'. The makers of the show have released a promo video, showing the ex-husband of Sara Khan entering the show. 

Sara Khan and Ali Merchant had earlier gotten married on a reality show but eventually parted ways. The two had also opened up about their separation before. 

The promo video introduces Ali Merchant as the 14th contestant on the controversial show, who will have to put up against his ex-wife Sara Khan. The video has been shared by the makers, stating that Sara will now have to face her 'past' in the present.

Ali Merchant too took to social media to share the promo video. He captioned the post, saying, "Khoob jamega rang jab main pehnunga kaidiyon ke rang! Don’t miss my dhamakedaar entry and the contestants’ reactions tonight at 11:30 pm in the live #LockUpp feed on @altbalaji and @mxplayer."

In an interview with ETimes, Ali had talked about sharing screen space with Sara again. He had said that the format of the show is such that she has to be there and he believes she is there on the show to 'reinvent herself'. He hoped that she takes it all positively for her better future, else, he said, "it’s her loss." He considers the stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui to be the toughest contestant on the show. "So far, my favourite contestant is Munawar because he is so real and raw, a bit mischievous," he said adding that everything looks amazing so far.

Meanwhile, the judgement day episode of the show will be live-streamed tonight at 10.30 pm. The show can be watched on MX Player and AltBalaji 24/7.
