Lokesh Kanagaraj's Thalapathy 67: Samantha to collaborate with Vijay for the fourth time?

Lokesh Kanagaraj, who's basking in the success of Kamal Haasan's Vikram, confirmed that he’d be directing Vijay next, in a recently-held awards function. Meanwhile, the buzz is Samantha is likely to pair with the actor for this one. Hearsay is that the makers have approached Samantha, and she's yet to give her nod. If she agrees to come on board, Thalapathy 67 will be her fourth outing with Vijay, following Kaththi, Theri and Mersal.

Tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, one can expect the official announcement of this untitled project in the coming days. When asked about the film's genre, Lokesh said it would be a mix of both class and mass.

Samantha, who was seen last in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, is currently focused on Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana, who previously helmed Majili, Ninnu Kori and Tuck Jagadish.

Earlier, it was said that Anirudh Ravichander will compose music for Thalapathy 67, but, we hear he has been replaced by Sam CS of Saani Kaayidham-fame. Also, reports were suggesting Yuvan Shankar Raja would be Thalapathy 67's music director after a photo of Vijay and Yuvan Shankar Raja went viral on social media. However, we await an official word on the same.

Further, reports state that the script of Thalapathy 67 had been written for Rajinikanth, originally. We don't know if Vijay agreed to work on the same script, or Lokesh has made a few changes to it, according to the image of Thalapathy.

Thalapathy 67 is likely to have Sanjay Dutt playing the baddie. Considering that the makers are planning to make this a pan-Indian film, we hear the Bollywood actor is on the priority list to play the role of a powerful antagonist.

Thalapathy 67 will be bankrolled by Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio and Xavier Britto. Unconfirmed reports state that Thalapathy 67 will go on floors on October 3. In fact, Master went on floors sometime in October 2019.
