While Athiran director Vivek is gearing up for the release of his next movie Teacher starring Amala Paul, Chemban Vinod and Hakkim Shah, the audience is more curious about his directorial with Mohanlal titled #L353 that was announced earlier this year. Rumours have been rife that the project was shelved just months after its announcement, with its producers now backing Mohanlal’s film with Lijo Jose Pellissery.

Vivek, however, explained that the movie has not been dropped and is very much on track for shoot next year. Talking at a press meet in Kochi, the director said, “The production company will first be backing Lijo Jose Pellissery's film, which is set to go on floors soon. After that Lal sir will be doing Empuraan and then he will join #L353. Lal sir and I have earlier worked together in ad films," he said, adding that will begin shooting next year as it's his "dream project".

On the genre of the film, Vivek said, "Lal sir’s performances have been the reason for me to enter cinema. I have worked with him in a few ad films and it's based on that experience that I got this opportunity to direct a film with him in the lead. In that regard, #L353 will be 200% a fan-boy tribute. I won't say that based on his filmography, it's a role that he has never done before, but it will be a step forward for Malayalam cinema. I am just waiting for the film to happen.”

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is currently shooting for Jeethu Joseph’s Ram, which will resume in Tunisia and Morocco. The actor will then return and complete the post production work of his directorial debut Barroz: The Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. Soon after that he is set to join the shoot of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s third directorial Empuraan, which is the second instalment of the Lucifer franchise. The superstar’s next theatrical release will be Shaji Kailas’ Alone, which is expected to hit theatres on December 2.
