The trailer of Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast is out and soon after it was unveiled, the netizens started comparing the clip to that of Money Heist. They pointed out the similarities and how heist plays an important role even in Beast. Many even called Beast ‘sasta Money Heist’.

The netizens have pointed out the various heist scenes, including when our hero Vijay (his character Veeraraghavan) is taken hostage. The trailer sees Veeraraghavan in the role of a spy and he is caught up during the dangerous heist at a mall where everyone is taken hostage. A scene from the trailer including Vijay and Yogi Babu became especially popular and from there on, people compared the trailer to Money Heist.

Not just that, many noticed an obvious resemblance. The thieves are seen wearing red jumpsuits and a mask. For the uninitiated, that was the identity of every thief in Money Heist, including El Professor.

Many have gone on to compare Vijay’s Veeraraghavan with Money Heist’s Gandia too. Gandia was one of the most hated characters on Money Heist. He gave the gang of thieves, who were more like family, a run for their money, literally. Gandia was also responsible for one of the crucial members aka Tokyo’s death on the show.

While most have called Beast ‘Money Heist lite’, others have also stated that the trailer reminds them of Bruce Willis’ Die Hard. Honestly, that is more of a compliment since Kollywood is trying to give Hollywood some competition.

Thalapathy Vijay was a name considered to play El Professor if there ever was an Indian version of Money Heist. The renowned Spanish heist show’s director Alex Rodrigo, in an interview with Behindwoods, had revealed the same. Alvaro Morte had played the role of the iconic character on the show which has now come to an end.
