Nandini Reddy's Anni Manchi Sakunamule locks this festive slot for release; here's all you need to know

Nandini Reddy, who had last directed the successful dramedy Oh Baby and a poignant short for Netflix's anthology Pitta Kathalu, will be coming up with a feel-good family entertainer next, Anni Manchi Sakunamule. Santosh Shobhan, who shot to fame with Ek Mini Katha and Manchi Rojulochaie, and actress Malvika Nair, whose Thank You released recently, play the lead pair in the film. Priyanka Dutt is bankrolling the film under Swapna Cinema in collaboration with Mitravinda Movies.

While the makers of the film had hinted at an update yesterday, they've now officially announced that the film would release for Christmas on December 21. Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh, Naresh, Rajendra Prasad, Gautami, Vasuki, Bindu Chandramouli and others to essay important roles in the film which has already wrapped its shoot. The post-production is progressing at a brisk pace. The team is set to commence their promotional campaign shortly, in the lead up to its release.

Mickey J Meyer is scoring the music for the film which has cinematography by Sunny Kurapati. Lakshmi Bhupal, the writer for films like Godfather, Kalyana Vaibhogame and Nene Raju Nene Manthri, has penned the dialogues. Dawood has written the screenplay for the same while Shivam Rao and Pallavi Singh have worked on the production design and the costumes respectively. Divya Vijay is the executive producer.

While the team had earlier planned to release the film in the last week of October, it looks like they've decided to give themselves more time to promote it. Swapna Cinema, a subsidiary division of Vyjayanthi Movies, had also produced hit films like Yevade Subrahmanyam, Mahanati and the much-celebrated Sita Ramam recently. Santosh Shobhan is also awaiting the release of another film titled Like, Share & Subscribe.
