Actor Naseeruddin Shah is all set for his upcoming web series Kaun Banega Shikharwati. As the project is gearing up for a release, he thinks that he gets more appealing offers on OTT platforms, compared to films. The actor was talking to PTI in a recent chat when he shared more insights into it.

He feels the opportunities on OTTs are working out for him, although he has done a few cameos in several films of his friends since things opened up in the new normal. He also added that he had been in very small films, made for a limited audience.

Centering around a dysfunctional royal family, Kaun Banega Shikharwati is reported to be a comedy-drama. The show will narrate the story of an idiotic king and his four daughters, which is also said to have some resemblance with the 2015 Marathi film Rajwade And Sons.

When asked about choosing the project, Shah said he had been itching to do comedy for a long time, and now it has finally fallen into his lap. He finds most of the OTT contents being serious of tone, blood-soaked, revenge dramas, or being steamy love stories. Amidst this, he thinks KBS is going to pave the way for light-heartedness with its eccentric characters of various degrees. He also added that it was all up to the audience to decide what to watch, yet he acknowledged that he would love to watch it in person.

Meanwhile, Kaun Banegi Shikharwati also features many popular names of the industry including Lara Dutta, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Anya Singh, Raghubir Yadav, Cyrus Sahukar and Varun Thakur. The show will be out on ZEE5 on January 7, 2022.
