Neeyat: Vidya Balan's crime thriller commences UK shoot

Vidya Balan starrer Neeyat is another adventurous crime-thriller on Amazon Prime Video. Last week, the OTT giant announced its co-production with Abundantia Entertainment at a special event alongside 40 other anticipated projects. The Bollywood diva commenced the shoot of the movie on Tuesday in the United Kingdom.

The Kahaani actress shared the first image from the sets of the upcoming movie. The image has Vidya laughing and posing along with the makers holding a clapperboard in her hand. The post reads, "Excited to begin shooting one of the most engaging scripts I have read in the recent times, with some of my favourite people - @directormenon & @ivikramix All I can say is expect the unexpected #Neeyat, Filming Begins! (sic)."

Apart from the ace actress, Neeyat also stars Neeraj Kabi, Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Shahana Goswami, Prajakta Koli and Amrita Puri in significant roles. 

The official plotline of the movie reads, "When guests start dropping dead at exiled billionaire Ashish Kapoor’s birthday getaway, detective Mira Rao must unravel devious motives as the suspects are Kapoor’s close friends and family."

The announcement video unveiled by the makers last week showcases a huge bungalow situated beside an ocean. The official montage further takes the audience inside the house and displays a bulletin board on the wall filled with the names of the actors from the film.

The story of the forthcoming movie has been written by Menon herself with Advaita Kala and Girvani Dhyani, while the screenplay has been done by the writer-director alongside Priya Venkataraman, Kala and Dhyani.

Neeyat marks the second collaboration of Vidya along with filmmaker Anu Menon after Shakuntala Devi. The forthcoming flick has been backed by Vikram Malhotra and Amazon Prime Video.
