Niki Walia: I was more mischievous than the students of Rosewood High in Puncch Beat

The second instalment of ALTBalaji’s Puncch Beat released on June 27 and had most of the original cast returning. Niki Walia, who plays Rosewood High’s dean Maya, is thrilled about reprising her role with Harshita Gaur, Priyank Sharma, Siddharth Sharma and Khushi Joshi in this season.

Maya is also the mother to Ranbir (Siddharth) and her husband’s illegitimate child, Rahat (Priyank). In the series, she tries to balance her world while being a principal and a mother.

Speaking about her experience, Niki said in a statement, “I was 10 times more mischievous than the students of Rosewood High.” The actress also said that when she was in school, she was really naughty and used to spend most of the time in her principal’s office rather than her class. “But I can't tell you how much sadistic pleasure I have got while playing Maya's character,” she said, adding that she now understands what her principal must have gone through.

Meanwhile, Priyank said in a statement, “Puncch Beat Season 1 was my debut as an actor, and I believe that the show is like our baby.” The Bigg Boss 11 fame actor also mentioned that he’s emotionally attached to the project and has a lot of expectations because season 1 worked beautifully for him as an actor.

While Puncch Beat 2 can be viewed on AltBalaji, the first season of this youth drama series is also streaming on MX Player.
