The makers of Keerthy Suresh starrer Good Luck Sakhi, have quashed rumours regarding the movie’s release directly to a streaming service. On Monday, Sudheer Chandra, the producer of the movie, said in a statement: “Good Luck Sakhi – There are rumours that we are going for a direct OTT release all over media. Kindly request media to refrain from saying so. None of it is true. We will come with an update if any. Hoping everyone stays home and stays safe.”
The film’s co-producer Shravya Varma took to twitter to deny the rumours regarding the movie’s OTT release, stating “Hearing a lot of speculation about the release of #GoodLuckSakhi, as you all know it was to release on June 3rd but the turn of events did not permit us to do so. However, there is no clarity on the new release date or platform yet. We will update as soon as we have one.”
Good Luck Sakhi is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and stars Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathi Babu, and Rahul Ramakrishna apart from Keerthy Suresh in the lead role. The movie tells the story of a girl named Sakhi, who is known for her bad luck in her hamlet. She decides to fight it by becoming a world-class rifle shooter. Good Luck Sakhi is being made as a trilingual movie and will release in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
The film also marks Nagesh Kukunoor’s debut in Telugu industry. In a recent interview, he revealed that he’s terrified about finally making a film in Telugu, because it is his mother tongue.
“It’s my mother tongue but I never learned to read and write in Telugu. It’s one of my biggest regrets. So every time I was either offered a Telugu film or thought about it, I was always terrified. It’s like delving into a new language. I knew whenever I do direct, I would have to do a lot of homework,” he said.
The movie will feature music by Devi Sri Prasad. Sudheer Chandra Padiri and Shravya Varma are bankrolling the project under the banner of Worth A Shot Motion Arts.
