Welcome to Now You Know, one exclusive podcast on OTTplay that gives you all the trivia, lesser-known facts, and even anecdotes of popular films and shows, lets begin today's episode, shall we?

Cobra Kai is an American martial-arts comedy-drama series and is one of the most viewed shows on Youtube and Netflix. The series is a sequel to the original Karate Kid trilogy from the 80s and boasts several Primetime Emmy Award nominations amongst others. The story is told from the perspective of Johnny Lawrence, the antagonist in the first film. The fourth season is slated to drop at the end of this month on Netflix. In today’s Now You Know, we shall look into some lesser-known trivia from the series that you probably didn't know about. I'm your host Nikhil, let's begin!

1. The ribbon Ralph Macchio’s character, Daniel LaRusso, uses in the series when he begins to train Karate again, and the car from season two, are from the iconic first film from 1984, The Karate Kid. Macchio was given both of these items after completing production for the first film.

2. As of season three, only two characters have appeared in all three films of the original trilogy - Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso, and Martin Kove’s John Kreese.

3. During Netflix's official YouTube Channel show Reunited Apart, the creators revealed that the original idea was for a feature film, but the plans were later changed to turn it into a TV series so as to tell the story from each character’s perspective.

4. Whenever members of the Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai come into conflict, they are shown to wear clothing of blue and red respectively.

5. A vast majority of the members of Cobra Kai either have experience in martial arts or are trained dancers.

6. Each season has at least one episode named after a song, one named as a Spanish word, and one named for a phrase or line from the original movie.

If you haven't watched this series yet then do so, it's streaming exclusively on Netflix and yes, the 4th season is slated to drop at the end of this month.

That's the OTTplay Now You Know podcast for today, I shall be back again with another episode. Until then it's your host Nikhil signing out.
