Director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, who made an impressive debut with Vanakkam Chennai in 2013, is now making her OTT debut with Paper Rocket. Kalidas Jayaram, Tanya Ravichandran, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Karunakaran, Gouri G Kishan, Chinni Jayanth and Renuka among others play important characters in this web series which is set for a direct release on Zee5 on July 29.

The makers launched the project's trailer at a glitzy event which was attended by a few celebrities from Kollywood. The two-minute trailer provides a glimpse into the story and genre of the series. 

Billed as a road trip series, Paper Rocket revolves around an enthusiastic youngster who fulfills the dreams of a few people who suffer from various illnesses. He decides to take them for a road trip across Tamil Nadu which changes their lives forever.

A few of them realize the need to lead a better life and start striving towards the same after they come out of their insecurities. But they also face a new challenge during their fun trip which lands them in trouble. How they deal with the unanticipated situation forms the rest of the story.

Simon K King has composed music for the project which has editing by Lawrence Kishore. Richard M Nathan and Gavemic U Ary have jointly cranked the camera for Paper Rocket which has been produced by Sreenidhi Sagar under the banner of Rise East Productions.

The project is Kalidas' second Zee5 outing after Oru Pakka Kathai which was released in 2020; this is his fourth direct-to-OTT release. Last seen in Vikram, his next project is Natchathiram Nagargirathu. On the other hand, Tanya Ravichandran, whose last outing was Maayon, has Agilan coming up in theatres on September 15.
