The second single from Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, titled Chola Chola, is all set to be released tomorrow. AR Rahman announced the same on his social media page, #CholaChola the next single from #PS1 releasing tomorrow at 6PM! #PonniyinSelvan #ManiRatnam @LycaProductions @Tipsofficial @tipsmusicsouth (sic)." The single, titled Chola Chola, has lyrics by Ilango Krishnan and is sung by Sathya Prakash, VM Mahalingam and Nakul Abhyankar. The poster that accompanied the announcement has , who plays Aditya Karikalan, holding his sword high in the air. The first single Ponni Nadhi was released not long ago and the song sung by AR Rahman himself along with AR Raihanah and Bamba Bakya was well received. 

In the meantime, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), has put together a Ponniyin Selvan trail that will take tourists across the places featured prominently in the Kalki Krishnamurthy novel. The move comes ahead of the much-hyped release of Mani Ratnam's film, which is gearing up to hits screens on September 30 in five languages- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The three-day trail will cover Mamallapuram, Veeranarayanapuram, Melakadambur, Pazhuvur, Kumbakonam, Thirupparambiyan, Pazhayarai, Patteeswaram,Thiruvaiyaru, Darasuram, Thanjavur, Kodikkarai, Nagapattinam and return to Chennai via Puducherry.

The film is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name and has an ensemble cast including Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shobita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Rahman, Jayaram and Vikram Prabhu to name a few. While the cinematography for the film is by Ravi Varman, editing is by Sreekar Prasad and art direction is by Thota Tharani. The film, which revolves around the early days of Arunmozhivarman, who later went on to become Rajaraja Cholan, will be released in two parts and in both regular and IMAX format. Ponniyin Selvan has become one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
