Post Valimai's release, Ajith to shed a few kilos for his third project, AK 61, with Vinoth, Boney

It's been a week since Vinoth's Ajith-starrer Valimai has hit the screens. The action thriller is the latter's release after two and a half years. His last outing, Nerkonda Paarvai (streaming on Zee5), too, had Vinoth at the helm. It was announced earlier that the director and actor will be joining hands for the third time.

Interestingly, Boney Kapoor's Bay View Projects is the producer for all the three projects. Their third collaboration, which has been tentatively titled AK61, is expected to go on floors later this month. Boney had earlier revealed that the movie is slated for a release for Deepavali this year.

We now hear that Ajith will be seen in a comparatively lean avatar in the film. Billed as a heist thriller, the actor is said to have lost 10 kilos already for the mysterious character he is playing in it. According to the grapevine, he will lose around 20 kilos for the untitled project which has Ghibran on board as its music composer.

A picture of Ajith sporting a white beard did the rounds on social media a few weeks ago when a fan of his posted the photo on Twitter. Later, Boney himself revealed a pre-first look still of the actor from his social media page. 

There has been news of Nagarjuna and Mohanlal being approached to play a crucial character in AK 61. The names of Prakash Raj and Tabu were also heard in connection with the film's cast.

The latest we hear is that Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to essay an important character. Bigg Boss Tamil fame Kavin is said to be another actor who will be seen in the movie. The movie's shooting will commence at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
