Power couple Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan celebrate Independence Day in Spain; pose with national flag

They say you can take an Indian out of India, but you can never take India out of an Indian. And this adage is applicable to celebrity couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan.

The much-in-love couple celebrated India's big day in Barcelona as they posed with the Indian national flag at various locations of the same place. 

The A-list actor and renowned filmmaker, who married in Chennai in June of this year, navigated the roads of barcelona with the national flag and posed for photos and videos. 

On Monday, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan shared how the day panned out with the world through his Instagram handle. 

"... Happy Independence Day to all brothers and sisters! All the Indians across the globe!" a part of his now-viral post reads.

He then went on to descrbibe India as the "most free, safest, democratic, secured and happy home". "... Let’s celebrate this day with a lot of pride and happiness! For being an Indian citizen we all should feel blessed!" he concluded. 

To makr the occasion, Nayanthara wore a plain white shirt and teamed it with a pair of jeans and white sneakers, while Vignesh matched her outfit with a white T-shirt and a pair of trousers and a lemon yellow over shirt. To complete his look, Vignesh wore a pair of neon green sneakers. 

In one shot, the filmmaker can be seen planting a kiss on the actor's forehead. 

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot after years of dating on June 9, 2022. The starry wedding was attended by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, South Indian superstars such as Rajinikanth, Suriya, among others. 

Interestingly, a documentary on the couple's wedding, titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, is being made and will be out on Netflix.
