Dynamic Prince Prajwal Devaraj’s 35th film is currently in production. The film is being directed by Lohith H, who rose to fame with Mummy – Save Me and Devaki, both of which had Priyanka Upendra in the lead. Mafia marks Lohith’s first massy commercial venture, given that both his earlier films were horror flicks.

Prajwal plays a cop in the film and is paired with Aditi Prabhudeva, who will be seen as an investigative journalist. According to reports, the film revolves around human trafficking. The team, we hear, have been shooting at a special set erected in Bengaluru and recently released Aditi’s first look as reporter Shruti, which they followed up with a character sketch poster of Prajwal in the film, with a caption that read, ‘The demons don’t know they are fighting the devil.’ The poster also revealed that Prajwal’s character is called D Sathyanarayana in the film.

Reports suggest that the team has been shooting at breakneck speed to complete it as soon as possible, as this is a film that was announced on Prajwal’s birthday last year. Also, the actor is next committed to start work on his film Gana in February, so the makers are hopeful of finishing up most of Mafia’s principal photography by then. A teaser is also expected to be released shortly.

Amid all of this, the latest news doing the rounds is that Mafia will not only have a Kannada version, but will be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu as well for simultaneous release. Beside Prajwal and Aditi, the film also stars Devaraj, as the Commissioner of Police, as well as Sadhu Kokila and Vijay Chendoor, among others, in pivotal roles. The film has music by Anoop Seelin. Mafia was earlier supposed to be a Gurudatha Ganiga directorial, but was later passed on to Lohith.
