Kinjal Nanda, the RG Kar doctor and also an accomplished actor, has been one of the frontline protesters since day one. Many other Tollywood celebrities also joined the movement that started after the heinous rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. Now, director Pratim D Gupta, who has also been voicing his protest on social media, wishes to work together with Kinjal.
Pratim told Anandabazar Online that he wanted to work at least once with Kinjal. He said, “I did not yet think of any particular character. But I will definitely think of a male lead for him as a character that will send a positive message. The way he works in reality is heroic. I will keep those characteristics on screen also. I will not show any negativity. Keeping in mind his real-life fight, I cannot show that the hero is involved with something wrong.”
Pratim saw Kinjal’s acting. Hence he has been thinking about directing Kinjal for the last few days. “I watched Hiralal and 8/12. He has truthfulness in his acting. When he talks, that truth gets reflected. When he delivers dialogue, it seems he talks from his heart. Hence I wish to work with him. People say that they want to work with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan. My wish is to work with Kinjal. However, I don't know him.”
Pratim said that he was thinking about whether some film could be made with Kinjal. “I want to make films. I saw his journey of becoming a hero from a common man. The rest will depend on the producers,” the director said.
