Akshay Kumar’s upcoming period war drama based on the life of King Prithviraj Chauhan is only weeks away from its big release. The latest news about the movie titled Prithviraj, is that Home Minister Amit Shah is going to be watching the movie.
It is reported that Amit Shah will watch the movie, which is going to be a retelling of King Prithviraj Chauhan’s life, on June 1. Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi spoke about the validity of these reports, saying in a statement, ““Yes, this is accurate information. It is our honour that the Honourable Home Minister of our country, Shri Amit Shah ji is going to witness the epic saga on the glorious life of one of Bharatmata’s bravest sons, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, who sacrificed his life for the country.''
The movie will be based on the king’s life and his valour as well as other aspects of his life. The makers have released two trailers for the movie, which hints that the movie will cover areas such as his love life and his bravery in the face of war.
During the trailer release of the movie, Akshay Kumar was asked at the media interaction about whether the Prime Minister would watch the movie, to which the actor replied that he would watch it if he wanted to.
Apart from Akshay Kumar in the titular role, the movie also stars Manushi Chhillar. She makes her Bollywood acting debut, playing King Prithviraj’s beloved, Sanyogita. The movie also features Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in supporting roles.
Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the historical war drama will hit theatres on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
