It appears that Kannada superstar Challenging Star Darshan just can’t catch a break. Shortly after being in the eye of a storm over a comment he made about fan adulation, for which he cited the example of Puneeth Rajkumar, which did not go well with the late Power Star’s fans, Darshan is now in the news for allegedly threatening a filmmaker for not making a film that was announced with newcomer Dhruwan.
Earlier today, news broke that the producer of the film Bhagwan Shri Krishna Paramathma, Bharath Vishnukanth had filed a complaint against the hero, Dhruwan, as well as Darshan. Bharath, a self-professed die-hard fan of Darshan attached an audio clip of the actor threatening to ‘finish him’, for not starting the shoot of the film. The producer’s contention is that the delay in filming was due to Dhruwan’s non-cooperation, and that the newbie has been misleading Darshan instead. Now that Bharath is financially unable to undertake production of the film, he decided to keep Dhruwan informed, but he, in turn, got Darshan also involved in the conversation. It is during this telephone call that Darshan allegedly threatened the producer.
Bharath claims that he filed the complaint fearing for his safety and that of his family. Dhruwan, who was earlier known as Suraj Kumar, is the son of producer SA Srinivas, who, in turn, is the brother of the late Parvathamma Rajkumar.
The complaint has been registered at the Kengeri Police Station in Bengaluru, where the director of the film was also asked to give his statement in connection with the making of this film. Bharath’s complaint is a topic of hot discussion on social media, where it is being rumoured that Darshan had invested in the making of the film, and that he intervened only when it was said that it was being cancelled altogether.
