Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Annaatthe has resumed its shoot in Chennai today. The film is set to be released on November 4 of this year.
After shooting on location in Hyderabad, the makers of Annaatthe were scheduled to go to Kolkata for a four-day shoot, which experienced a delay. After finishing up the Chennai leg of the shoot which is going on, the team is reported to go to West Bengal. Most of the film’s shoot was completed before the devastating second wave of the pandemic hit the country.
The film is directed by Siruthai Siva, whose name has become eponymous with his directorial debut thus marking his first collaboration with Rajinikanth.
The film also features the musical talents of composer D Imman. Sun Pictures are on board as producer of the movie. The production studio had taken to Twitter to give fans a taste of the film’s poster and to confirm the Diwali release.
In addition to Rajinikanth, the film also features the star power of Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Sathish, Soori and Kushbu, among others.
Rajinikanth had recently returned to Chennai from the US, where he had gone for a health check-up. The superstar’s previous film was Darbar, an action flick featuring him playing the role of a policeman.
The film has been described as a ‘rural entertainer’.
