Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is one of the biggest Indian movies ever made, and it is safe to say fans are eagerly waiting for its release. Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji have now opened up about the magnum opus.

“It’s deep rooted in Indian culture, and we had the opportunity to create our own Marvel, which Ayan is trying to do with his Astraverse,” Kapoor told Variety. “Any film, any good compelling story, made in your culture, in an authentic way, in a true form, will connect to a large audience.”

Kapoor, who is also a producer on the project, said that while luck plays a part as to what kind of release or exposure the movie gets, they have Disney on board and so he believes Brahmastra is a movie where they have an opportunity for having a world audience.

The actor also said that he, Alia Bhatt and Mukerji are just three best friends who were dreaming about making the movie and that they are privileged and excited to be a part of the vision.

Apart from Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, the fantasy adventure film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in important roles. The movie is backed by Disney’s Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures.

The makers released a short video teaser to confirm that the movie’s first official trailer would be released on June 15. A teaser with the song Kesariya was also released, which has over 17 million views on YouTube. The movie is slated to hit theatres in September this year.

Meanwhile, Kapoor was last seen in the biographical drama, Sanju, in 2018. The actor also has Shamshera, Animal and an untitled Luv Ranjan film in the works.
