Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt pregnancy: Here's how grandparents-to-be Mahesh Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor, Soni Razdan reacted

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt seem to be having one exciting year. The couple, who tied the knot this year in April, have not only a lot to look forward to on the work front, but in their personal lives as well. Alia recently announced on Instagram that they were pregnant with their first child. In addition to the Brahmastra couple, grandparents-to-be Mahesh Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor and Soni Razdan too expressed their elation at the news.

In conversation with TOI, Alia’s father Mahesh remarked how excited he was to hear that ‘his baby’ would soon be having a baby of her own. Speaking about how happy he was for the couple, the filmmaker expressed his elation at their ‘tribe’ becoming bigger and said that he would now start to prepare for the most important role of his life, that of a grandfather. “This is going to be a grand debut," said Mahesh.

Alia’s mother Soni talked about how it was a ‘beautiful and significant’ moment in the couple’s lives. Wishing them the very best on their ‘amazing, life altering’ moment, Soni said she was excited to become a ‘nani’. She added that the whole family is moved and overwhelmed by the news and they are all ‘dancing with joy’.

Neetu was reportedly congratulated by paparazzi on the news, and the actress was questioned about how she felt on becoming a ‘dadi’. According to the TOI report, the actress looked ‘emotional’ and greeted the question with a wide smile. She said that she is looking forward to seeing Ranbir’s upcoming film Shamshera on the big screen.
