Ranveer Singh's career in Bollywood has spanned more than a decade. Yash Raj Films established Ranveer as a big Bollywood star with Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. The banner is also producing his next film Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
During the trailer premiere for Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer spoke about the advice that YRF producer Aditya Chopra gave him before his big Bollywood debut.
According to an Indian Express report, Ranveer said, “Before the release of my first film, my posters were put up everywhere. I had gone to watch a film, where I saw two people standing in front of my poster. I stopped because I wanted to overhear what they had to say. They said, 'Who is this? He doesn't look like a hero!' This has happened. In fact, Aditya Chopra had told me in our second meeting that, 'You're not Hrithik Roshan, so acting kar lena. (You’re no Hrithik Roshan, so please act well)’”.
During the trailer's launch, Ranveer added that he feels privileged to share his new film.
In Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer plays a Gujarati man trying to protect his pregnant wife and unborn daughter from his parents and community who want to abort the fetus. The movie also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah. It’s out in cinemas on May 13.
Ranveer has also worked on highly acclaimed films like as Lootera, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and "Padmaavat," to mention a few.
The actor was last seen in the film 83 as the former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev. Cirkus, an adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy The Comedy of Errors, will be his next film.
In addition, he co-stars with Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
Meanwhile, Band Baaja Baraat, is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
